Student Start Up Business Centers (SSBCs)

Higher education must empower and enable students to compete in a highly challenging and globalized economy. Among other capacities, higher education institutions must encourage and support student entrepreneurship and innovation as drivers of new ideas, businesses and subsequently of economies.

The PEP Foundation has established a Student Start-Up Business Center (SSBC) with the goal of promoting talented students’ entrepreneurship and enhancing their practical learning experience at the University.

“Metrics and Milestones for Successful Incubator Development” is a downloadable document developed by the Impact Network in 2018.

To arrive at a consensus regarding impact metrics for incubators, Impact Network conducted three sessions with 16 incubators from around the country. As a result of these sessions, Impact Network has contextualized international best practices and metrics for use in Pakistan. We also offer a set of recommendations for further consideration by all stakeholders. Impact Network is supported by the PEP Foundation.

To date the PEP Foundation has supported the establishment of SSBCs at the following Universities:

Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur

Virtual University of Pakistan, Lahore
